2003 Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon

Our May library offering is a 20-year release that embodies the specialness of Howell Mountain, particularly its advantages in difficult weather. In 2003, while the valley floor of Napa endured tricky swings between unusually cold temperatures and heat spikes, our vineyards above the fog line enjoyed a more peaceful climate. This wine is described as “advancing toward elegance over sheer power” and is replete with intense mountain blackberry, minerals, and dried herbs. On the palate, the 2003 La Jota Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon is concentrated and ­firm, with intense mountain blackberry and black raspberry fruit, minerals, and some dried herb character.
